NaNo

November's almost here and that means the insanity is about to begin. For the past three years, I've participated in NaNoWriMo. National Novel Writing Month. Crazy people across the globe sit down and write 50,000 words in 31 days.

It's crazy, crazy fun. It's a great way to practice writing, and participate in a community of writers who are just as crazy as you are.

This year I'm writing a queer scifi mystery, because that isn't enough genres. I'm feeling daunted, as it's always hard to juggle school, life and writing. But it's fun even if you don't win. Check me out!

  1. Good for you! This is awesome. I've never participated in the NaNoWriMo, but I have taken the challenge to write a screenplay in a month and have entered the write a novel in a weekend competition (which is actually a novella, but still great fun). Good luck!

Not sure if you're "taf" from UNHM who responded that they received the message that the Red River Theatre trip was postponed a week, but I wanted to make sure you know that we're seeing the film on Nov. 10th instead (please RSVP so I know you have received word).

See you next week at class. Regular class time; regular class room.

    Thanks!

  2. Wow, you must have been really busy! I am a terrible writer, one of the reasons I took this class, so I give you a lot of credit. I look forward to reading some of your work.

  3. It's the last day of November--did you win? I haven't actually written anything for NaNoWriMo before. I always tell myself I'll write something, but November 30th comes too soon! Maybe next year :/

  5. That is very cool!! I always admire the people that can sit down and write things like that! Or submit stories to competitions! I simply do not have the patience to write or the creativity to even start! Kudos!

  8. That's so cool. The competition must be a huge writing motivator. It's really brave of you to attempt a novel in 31 days, I can only imagine!
